Testimonial: an iranian-french collaboration

Taraneh TATARCHEH

I am deeply grateful to GERCA for their generous support of my doctoral research at the University of Strasbourg. Their funding has been essential in supporting my academic work and enabling me to study the impact of Empagliflozin on endothelial dysfunction and myocardial contractility impairment in Takotsubo Syndrome: The Role of the SGLT2/NADPH Oxidase Pathway.

As a PhD student under the exceptional mentorship of Professor Olivier Morel and Professor Valérie Schini-Kerth, I have been researching Takotsubo Syndrome, a heart condition caused by stress that mimics a heart attack. Although temporary, it can be challenging to diagnose and treat, and in some cases, it leads to serious complications. My work focuses on improving diagnosis and treatment while exploring new therapeutic possibilities.

GERCA’s support has not only provided financial stability during my doctoral studies but has also allowed me to share my findings at global events, including the world’s largest cardiovascular congress. These opportunities have been invaluable for my academic growth and for connecting with other experts in my field.

GERCA’s dedication to supporting researchers and fostering innovation has been truly inspiring. Their contribution demonstrates a strong commitment to advancing science and addressing important healthcare challenges. I am confident that their support will continue to empower researchers to make significant contributions in their fields.

GERCA is more than a supporter—they are a driving force for progress and discovery.

Sincerely,

Dr. Taraneh TATARCHEH
