Role of neutrophils, platelets, and extracellular vesicles and their interactions in COVID-19 - associated thrombopathy
GERCA
Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic led to severe thromboembolic complications and organ failure. This review explores how neutrophils, platelets, and extracellular vesicles (EVs) contribute to thromboinflammation and worsen outcomes, emphasizing immune system dysregulation and platelet activation. Potential therapeutic strategies are discussed.
